Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

A good place to spend the afternoon with the family. Also it has public BBQ pits that u can use to cook your own food (u need to take the coal)
Hired cycles today. No reservation needed just paid and off we went. The bikes were fine for our 2 hours around the reservoir. Would have liked a little more care in getting the bikes fitted at the start. I realised too late my saddle should be higher. But enjoyable two hours and would go again.
